Will Calver
Will Calver is a painter living and working in the Kentish countryside. His depictions of everyday objects aim to convey a sense of stillness and subtle presence.
The paintings are made from life, working from direct observation to study the interactions between light, forms and colour, and to express the intimacy that develops through spending time in the presence of the subject.
From his studio, set among fruit trees and farmland, he is able to bear witness to the slow turning of the year, and this helps to create a sense of naturalism in his work.
